Hong Kong - Solitude

Well last Friday Catherine and the girls flew back to London with a neighbour who had come to visit us. It seemed like a good idea to send them altogether and not have to worry about one of us sitting in business class for the 13 hour flight home.

Once at the airport it no longer seemed like the clever idea. It was so damn hard saying goodbye to them and Nia was asking why I had to stay in Hong Kong on my own and asking if I would be OK. The trip back to the city and home was strange to say the least.

On Saturday I managed to keep my mind off the quietness by going to play golf in China. Considering the weather it was a mad idea. I am sure that the boat was close to being underwater a few times and all of us that went were looking a little green when we berthed in ZhuHai. We got to the Golf Club and it was still pouring down.

However after making the 1 1/2 hour trip we were not going to just not play. We went out for all 18holes. It never stopped raining but the course was in fantastic condition and even with the rain it was a great day. It is amazing how much difference it makes when it is still in the high 20's and rain doesn't make you uncomfortable.

Sunday was the day when all the late nights and the rest of the recent goings on caught up with me. I managed to drag myself out of bed at about 11am and then pretty much spent the day on the sofa doing nothing. Quite a nice feeling considering there are not too many opportunities to do this. I went out in the evening and got some food in, cooked dinner, played some games on my new PSP and went to bed.

Now only 122 hours to go!
